Royal Poinciana

Or Delonix Regia. A tropical plant starts to show a sign of life after being dormant since last fall. Its other names include Peacock Flower, Flame of the Forest, and Flame Tree due to its vivid red-orange-yellow flowers. Its seed pods are used for percussion instrument in Caribbean named maraca. It's native to Madagascar and invasive in some part of Australia. In Texas it is hardy in South Texas.
